The story tells that Nicolás secretly gave a bag full of gold coins to three women
"whose father did not have the resources"  when they reached the age of marriage. It is said that the priest entered through a window
 and put the gold bag inside the girls' socks, which hung over the fireplace to dry them.

THE CHANGE TO SANTA CLAUS AND SANTA CLAUS

Records indicate that the transformation occurred in the year 1624. "It was in the seventeenth century
 when the image of Santa Claus arrived in the United States from the Netherlands, - a country in which Sinterklaas or San Nicolás is venerated,
 a character who brings gifts to children on December 5. "



However, in 1809 the writer Washington Irving deformed the name of the Dutch saint Sinterklaas in the vulgar pronunciation of Santa Claus.
 This could be considered the birth of the name.
 Then the poet Clement Clarke Moore made his contribution in a poem where he talks about Santa Claus as a dwarf and thin,
 but who gives toys on Christmas Eve to children and travels on a sleigh pulled by nine reindeer including the leader, Rodolfo.

In 1863 Santa Claus adopts his new physiognomy thanks Thomas Nast,
a cartoonist who designed the character for his Christmas strips in Harpers Weekly.
 Their new clothes would have influence of the bishops of yesteryear and without relation with San Nicolás de Bari.

The story and celebration began to spread by the hand of Santa Claus,
 with the fat character, barbel and red after an illustration made in 1870
 by the German-American cartoonist Thomas Nast on the basis of a poem by Clement Moore.

Santa Claus has been widely used as a commercial tool. At the end of the 19th century,
 from a US announcement of the Lomen Company, a US company in the refrigeration sector,
 who incorporated the tradition that Santa Claus would come from the North Pole;
and Christmas reindeer would be popularly popularized as a means of transportation for Santa Claus.
In 1930 Coca Cola acquired the rights of this living object and in its advertisements began to use it.
